In 2012, the Association of Danish Insolvency Lawyers (Foreningen af Danske Insolvensadvokater) introduced the possibility of achieving certification as an insolvency law practitioner.
The certification is a guarantee of professional conduct in insolvency law matters.
All certified attorneys comply with a number of stricter-than-standard requirements, and their certification status is regularly reviewed. The certification is issued personally to the individual attorney. In April 2015, just over 150 attorneys across Denmark had been certified under the scheme. The certification applies for a renewable period of three years.
