Meo

Anti-money laundering platform

Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten uses the business associate Meo when carrying out compulsory KYC processes under anti-money laundering law in case types subject to the Danish Anti-Money Laundering Act.

Why is there a need to carry out this process?

As a law firm, Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten is subject to the Danish Anti-Money Laundering Act. The purpose of the Act is to ensure that businesses subject to the Act contribute to the international fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten is therefore under an obligation to carry out so-called Know Your Customer (KYC) processes regarding our clients. It means that we must obtain specific information about you/your business and the individuals who are the ultimate owners of the business (the beneficial owners).

Are you a consumer client?

If you are a consumer client of Poul Schmith (natural persons who contact the firm about advisory services that are not business-related), you will receive a separate engagement and price information letter describing the above in more detail and providing further details about the other compulsory information that we are obliged to give such clients under the consumer protection rules and the legal ethics rules.

Just follow the process described in the e-mail, which also contains a link that will direct you to the Meo anti-money laundering platform. You will then be guided to carry out the compulsory know-your-customer procedure related to your file at Poul Schmith/Kammeradvokaten.
