The matters involve issues and disputes concerning the public regulation of “maritime Denmark”, including the relationship with international conventions and obligations, as well as issues and disputes in connection with the application of rules in the field of maritime and transport law.

We assist both government and private clients with shipbuilding contracts, ship repair and acquisition of ships and equipment or when disputes arise in this connection.

Our services

Our services include:

  • advisory and litigation services in connection with oil pollution, including questions of liability and distribution of liability as well as reimbursement of public emergency preparedness costs in relation to clean-up after oil pollution incidents or prevention of risk of pollution;
  • matters concerning liability and distribution of liability in connection with collision between vessels or collision with, for example, port installations or bridges, and legal proceedings concerning claims for damages and recovery of damages;
  • matters concerning salvage operations and pilotage, including matters concerning salvage money claims, as well as issues and legal disputes arising from pilotage, such as questions of pilot liability;
  • advisory and litigation services concerning the public law regulation of maritime transport, including the regulation of vessel requirements, crew, shipowners (for example, ISM), pilotage, regulation of waters etc.;
  • assistance in connection with the conclusion of contracts on building, chartering or repair of vessels, including the drafting of shipbuilding contracts/charter parties/repair contracts and assistance in connection with the preparation of procurement documents, as well as subsequent legal assistance with interpretation and enforcement of the concluded contract;
  • advisory and litigation services in connection with sea, air and road transport, including carrier’s liability and limitation of liability.
