Human Rights Watch, Poul Schmith and The Footprint Firm are pleased to invite you to an exclusive, invite-only event on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) in light of the finalised EU framework.

What to expect

With the adoption of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) - and the contours of the Omnibus proposal now clarified - the discussion is no longer whether companies should act, but how to move forward in practice.

This event is designed for decision-makers working at the intersection of legal, sustainability, procurement and risk functions. We will focus on how companies can translate regulatory requirements into concrete action - and how HRDD can create both compliance and strategic value.

The session will bring together legal, strategic, and human rights perspectives:
  • Arvind Ganesan (Human Rights Watch) will provide a human rights perspective on the revised framework, including:
  • Key strengths and weaknesses of the updated regime
  • How companies of different sizes are impacted
  • The role of audits, certifications, and multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Why a “race to the top” in human rights and environmental protection benefits companies.

  • Poul Schmith will address the practical legal implications of HRDD, including contractual frameworks, governance structures, and how due diligence is operationalised in practice.

  • The Footprint Firm will focus on risk management and ESG integration, including how HRDD aligns with broader sustainability strategies and enterprise risk frameworks.

Why attend

With the regulatory framework now in place, companies have a unique opportunity to:
  • Move from policy to implementation
  • Strengthen legal resilience and contractual control in value chains
  • Integrate human rights into core business and risk management processes
  • Position themselves competitively in a landscape increasingly defined by responsible business conduct
