ESG – sustainability and social responsibility

We contribute to a business sector in development and a society in balance. As a company, we are addressing an increasing number of responsibility and sustainability agendas. This is not just about compliance; it is also about committing to solving a global climate problem and contributing to a sustainable society in the long term.

We have been working with social responsibility for many years, but since 2019 we have been working systematically under four overall sustainability dimensions: Responsibility for the environment/climate, Responsibility for people, Responsibility for tech/data and Social responsibility/community responsibility. In concrete terms, this means that sustainability and ESG are part of our business strategy and strategic benchmarks, both in our daily operations and in our advisory services. What we do out in the world must be reflected in our internal policies, and vice versa. That is what we call integrity.

We make the law accessible

Over the past few years, we have focused on investing in making the law accessible and transparent by implementing a wide range of initiatives.

One such important initiative is the free platform “The Democracy Game – Our Constitution at Stake” aimed at institutions of education in Denmark, which we have developed in cooperation with Gyldendal and the Ministry of Education.

Moreover, we ensure transparency to the industry by opening our doors to the public as part of the Culture Night event.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

We believe that people should have equal opportunities in terms of career, democratic rights and basic well-being. Work on diversity and inclusion is an integral part of our corporate strategy, which we have been working on purposefully for several years through various initiatives. We are part of the Confederation of Danish Industry's equality initiative, Diversitetsløftet, where we have helped to formulate specific principles for increasing diversity in Danish business.

Partnerships and pro bono

For many years, we have provided pro bono advice to selected organisations and causes – both through permanent partnerships and on a one-off basis. Part of our corporate strategic purpose is to work towards a balanced society, and we are therefore committed to supporting, developing and challenging our efforts in areas such as social responsibility. We therefore contribute with everything from pro bono work, financial support, donations, knowledge building and collaborative activities. For us, social responsibility also means taking responsibility for fundamental communities and interests in society. This applies to both art and culture and Danish association and elite sports, but also to the more serious side, where we collaborate with the Defence Command on Danish preparedness in crisis situations. Some of our many initiatives are highlighted below.

THE DANISH RED CROSS YOUTH
For many years, we have had a close partnership with The Danish Red Cross Youth, where we contribute with presentations and various pro bono activities and have organised major events together. The Danish Red Cross Youth is Denmark's largest humanitarian youth organisation, which works for and with children and young people throughout Denmark and around the world.

THE FOUNDATION FOR MARY ELIZABETH'S HOSPITAL
We have advised on the establishment of Børneriget Fonden, which aims to support Mary Elizabeth's Hospital – Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet's department for children, young people and pregnant people – on its journey to becoming the world's best children's hospital. We provide ongoing pro bono advice and other assistance to ensure that the private hospital foundation has better conditions for enabling groundbreaking efforts to benefit seriously ill children, young people and pregnant people.

LEVENDE MENNESKERETTIGHEDER - HUMAN RIGHTS IN ACTION
We collaborate with Levende Menneskerettigheder to strengthen young people's knowledge of human rights. Several of our lawyers are available to facilitate teaching about human rights at educational institutions across the country, and our offices in Copenhagen and Aarhus regularly host Levende Menneskerettigheder's events on current human rights issues.

WWF WORLD WILDLIFE FUND
As part of our contribution to the fight against the environmental crisis, we have assisted the WWF World Wildlife Fund with pro bono advice and donations, including in connection with forestry projects abroad, e.g. in Asia.

INTERFORCE
Since 2023, we have been a member company of InterForce – an organisation under the Danish Defence Command that works to strengthen cooperation between the civilian business community and the defence and emergency services. We offer employees with active ties to the reserve forces, the Home Guard, the Emergency Management Agency and the Coast Guard up to five working days with pay per year if they need to participate in training, exercises, national tasks, international missions, rescue operations, etc.

AROS AMBASSADORS
As members and sponsors of ARoS Ambassadors, we support cultural life and ARoS's work to create a visible and vibrant museum on the international art scene. ARoS's partners from the Danish business community help to bring world-class art experiences to Aarhus.

THINK TANK EQUALIS
We have advised on the establishment of the think tank Equalis, which works to promote equality and gender diversity through knowledge, action and partnerships. We provide ongoing pro bono advice as needed.

OLYMPIC PARTNERSHIP WITH DIF
We are proud of our Olympic partnership with Dansk Idræt - The National Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation of Denmark, through which we support Danish club life, budding talent and top Danish athletes on their journey to the Olympics. Through this partnership, we will use the magic of sport to create learning opportunities, unique meeting places and experiences that we can share – both with colleagues and customers.
